Includes the ability to add watermarks to uploaded images. Support for optionally retaining backups of the original image. * No cost, no subscriptions * No reliance on transmitting your images to a third party server * Support for multisite networks * No third-party PHP libraries are used * JavaScript is native (does not use jQuery) **Modern image formats** AVIF images are [~50% smaller than JPEG images](https://web.dev/articles/compress-images-avif), and WebP images are [~30% smaller than JPEG images](https://developers.google.com/speed/webp/docs/webp_study) with the same image quality. ## Screenshots * [[ * Simple setup within WordPress. ## Installation **From your WordPress dashboard** 1. Navigate to “Plugins” -> Add New 2. Search for `Image Shift` 3. Activate Image Shift from your Plugins area **Manual upload** 1. Download Image Shift 2. Upload the `image-shift` directory to your `/wp-content/plugins/` directory 3. Activate Image Shift from your Plugins area ## FAQ ### Does this work with multisite networks? Yes. This can be deployed on a per-side basis or network-wide for all sites. ### Does this convert images I’ve uploaded in the past? It does not convert images uploaded before installing this plugin. Changing image extensions and URLs after the fact can lead to issues where previously referenced images no longer work. Plus, it doesn’t display ads all over the admin interface to push for the CDN version. My only regret is that you can’t choose to keep a backup of the original image or remove the watermark. Maybe in a future update?
