## Description

**OptiFlow WebP Media** is a lightweight yet powerful WordPress plugin designed
to optimize your website’s performance by automatically converting images to the
modern WebP format. WebP images are significantly smaller than their JPG and PNG
counterparts (often up to 30% smaller) without losing quality, helping your site
load faster and improve SEO rankings.

Unlike other plugins that clutter your default `uploads` directory, OptiFlow WebP
Media stores all converted files in a dedicated `wp-content/webp-uploads` folder,
maintaining a clean and mirroring directory structure.

### Features

 * **Automatic WebP Conversion**: Automatically converts new JPG, JPEG, and PNG
   uploads to WebP.
 * **Bulk Conversion**: Convert multiple existing images at once using the “Bulk
Actions” menu in the Media Library.
 * **Full Library Support**: Optimized all registered image sizes, including thumbnails,
   medium, large, and custom sizes.
 * **Dedicated Storage**: Converted images are stored in `wp-content/webp-uploads/`,
keeping your standard uploads folder clean.
 * **Dashboard Overview**: A modern, high-quality settings dashboard to monitor
   your library’s optimization progress.
 * **Manual Conversion**: Need to convert an old image? Use the “Convert” button
directly in the Media Library list view.
 * **Intelligent Statistics**: Correctly identifies native WebP uploads vs. converted
   images for accurate reporting.
 * **Custom Quality Control**: Fine-tune your WebP quality (50-100) to find the
perfect balance between file size and image clarity.
 * **Cleanup Tools**: Option to automatically delete all generated WebP files if
you decide to deactivate the plugin.

or install the plugin through the WordPress plugins screen directly.
 2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ screen in WordPress.
 3. Use the **Settings** link in the plugin list or go to **OptiFlow WebP Media** in
    the admin menu.
 4. (Optional) Adjust the WebP quality and “Auto Convert” settings as needed.

## FAQ

### Where are the converted images stored?

All converted images are stored in `wp-content/webp-uploads/`. The plugin creates
a folder structure that exactly mirrors your standard `wp-content/uploads/` directory
for consistency and easy management.

### Does this delete my original JPG or PNG files?

By default, the plugin keeps your original images as a fallback. However, if you
are strictly focused on saving disk space, you can enable the “Keep Original Images”
setting to delete the originals after a successful conversion.

### What happens if I upload an image that is already WebP?

The plugin intelligently detects native WebP uploads. It won’t attempt to re-convert
them, and they will be marked as “Optimized” in your dashboard statistics.

### How do I manually convert an old image?

Go to the Media Library (**Media > Library**). In the list view, you will see a “
WebP” column. Click the “Convert” button next to any JPG or PNG image to generate
its WebP version.
