The WYSIWYG Inline Code Command plugin adds an \"inline code\" command to the\nWYSIWYG (visual) post and page editor. It's just like the \"Bold\" or \"Italics\"\ncommands, except that it makes your text look like code -- usually, this means\nthat it's drawn in a monospace font like this<\/code>. The comand is accessible as a\nbutton and with the keybinding Alt-Shift-C<\/code>.<\/p>\n\n

The unmodified editor does provide a pre<\/code> style that's somewhat similar, but\nit's a block<\/em> style, which means that you can only apply it to whole\nparagraphs. I wrote this plugin because I found that I often want to apply\ncode styling to shorter pieces of computer-y content, such as the\n Alt-Shift-C above.<\/p>\n\n

The WYSIWIG Inline Code Command plugin provides precisely this one feature, so\ndon't expect it to be updated very often. One issue that I'm aware but don't\nknow quite how to fix is that the user-visible text describing the command in\nthe editor isn't internationalized.<\/p>\n\n\n

Installation is as simple as possible:<\/p>\n\n

  1. Upload the plugin files to the wysiwyg-inline-code-command<\/code> directory\nin your \/wp-content\/plugins\/<\/code> directory.<\/li>\n
  2. Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress.<\/li>\n
  3. Edit a post or a page. Select some text, and either hit the new button\nthat looks like \"<\/>\", or press Alt-Shift-C<\/code>.<\/li>\n
  4. That's all there is to it!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n
